A New Addition

Yesterday was a great day for me. Usually I spend my time walking around the thrift stores by myself, bouncing ideas around my head, sitting, standing, leaning, staring at pieces of furniture or accessories for a good amount of time before making a decision on whether to get them or not. But yesterday was special because my little sister, Bre, tagged along with me after school. I love spending time with her, but our busy schedules don't allow for very much sister time anymore, so I was thrilled that she was just as excited to visit Salvation Army and Goodwill as I was.

Salvation Army is a usual stop for me, I considered a few good options but ended up passing on all of them. Bre found a votive holder that she adored, along with a very mod yellow vase for her bedroom. $2 later and we were on our way across town to Goodwill.

Goodwill is in campustown and I usually never am out on that side of town, but boy I was glad that we stopped in yesterday! Their furniture prices are much better than Salvation Army's and I was immediately drawn to a small coffee table sitting in the middle. It had a beautiful shape, with elegant turned legs and a short compact size. Bre immediately pegged it as "farmhouse style" and I was sold when I saw the price tag...$6.99! Yes please!!

It was my only purchase of the day (Bre found a cute little frame that she is going to rock out with yellow paint), and I can't remember the last time I spent a better $7!

Originally I thought I might use the table in the living room, to replace the oversized one we have right now, but I wasn't sold on the idea, and I thought it may be a little too short. Plan B...our bedroom. PERFECT! I am loving it at the end of our bed, Mr Z...not so much. But he will get used to it. :)

  2. I gotta get out more! I need something in front of our bed for our cat - I could easily use something like that and convert it into a padded bench. Love it!
